How to Build A Huge List of Subscribers, Get JV Partners & Advertise Yo...
A highly effective way of building your email list is to partner with other marketers who have a list of their own. When you work together you can help one another grow your lists, as well as a number of other things. But how do you find those people to JV with in the first place?
The first people a lot of marketers think of when they go looking for JV partners are the "big names" in their niche. In other words, the marketers with high profiles in the niche.
While those people probably have big lists and would be highly desirable JV partners, it's unlikely that they're going to work with you when you're just getting started. They're going to want to partner with people who can give them as much leverage as they can provide.
When you're getting started, you're going to have a lot more success with smaller marketers who are also working on building their own lists.
Look for marketers who are a step or two up from where you are currently. For example, if you've got 250 people on your email list, you might look for partners with 500 on theirs. Think in terms of your next step, not where you want to be a year or two from now.
So where do you look for these partners? There are several effective resources for finding them:
- Niche forums
- Clickbank or other affiliate networks
- Search engines
- Email lists you already subscribe to
Forums make excellent resources because they allow you to interact with people before approaching them as potential partners. When you're active in the forum, those people will be familiar with you and probably a lot more open to potential partnerships.
Clickbank, Paydotcom and other such networks are also good resources. Find other products related to your market and look for people who are building a list through their sites. The fact that they're building a list makes them a good potential partner for you.
Search engines won't give you as targeted a list of potential JVs but you can still use them to search for other sites in your market that are building lists. You should also keep an eye on the paid ads to find other marketers who are selling products related to your niche.
Lastly, consider the lists that you're subscribed to in your market. All those marketers are potential JV partners as well. Just remember - you're better off approaching smaller marketers at first. Leave the big guns until you have something to offer them in return.
